Ann Higbee

Ann Higbee , age 95, a resident of Powhatan Point, Ohio, and formerly from Michigan, passed away December 21, 2023 at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida. Ann was born October 4, 1928, in Powhatan Point, Ohio, the daughter of John and Theresa (Halhak) Jubera. Ann married Wallace Higbee on October 13, 1951 in Ohio. She loved to work outside, and enjoyed fishing and golfing. She was very active, and was on her church bowling and softball teams. Ann and Wallace enjoyed traveling in their motor home. Ann loved people and had many friends. She was also known for her amazing pierogis, and was known as “the pizza grandma!"

Ann is survived by her daughters Sara (Steve) Nelson of Bellevue, Michigan, and Michele Hixon of Tampa, Florida, grandchildren, Rachel (Derek) Maddox of Bellevue, Michigan, Alyssa (Michael) Hamilton of Nashville, Michigan, Maria (Ben) Canfield of Decatur, Georgia, Andrew (Abby) Nelson of Niles, Michigan, Eric Nelson of Bellevue, Michigan, Jasmine Hixon of Tampa, Florida, and Mike Hixon of Bowling Green Florida, as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, at noon at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Steve Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at the McCafferty Cemetery in Bruce Township, Michigan.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home from 10 AM till time of service at noon.
