Elizabeth S. Miechiels

Elizabeth S. Miechiels, age 86, a 55 year resident of Addison Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at home. Elizabeth was born April 2, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of William T. and Nellie J. (Newberry) Beckner.

On June 15, 1957, Elizabeth married Richard L. Miechiels in Detroit. Elizabeth was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a Bible Teacher for many years. She worked as a Corporate Executive Secretary until her children were born. Elizabeth loved to travel. Among the other hobbies she enjoyed, are painting, cooking, her flower gardens, and assisting her son with his antique business.

Betty is survived by her husband, Richard, their children, Jeffrey (Doreen) of Almont and Karen (Charles) Flynn of Dearborn, and brother, David (Barb) Beckner of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Pagonas.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 3101 Thomas Rd., Oxford, MI 48371 on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
