George R. Bryant

George R. Bryant, age 90, a resident of Washington Township since 1969 passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Troy Beaumont Hospital in Troy Michigan. George was born March 6, 1927 in Charleston Missouri, the son of George R. and Beulah (Hawkins) Bryant Sr. He married Dorothy Murray on July 19, 1958 at the Methodist Church on Jefferson Ave. in Detroit. George worked for 30 years at Park Davis and also worked at Chrysler, the Packard Plant, and Immuno. Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Missouri to see his sister, hunting and farming. Attending church was also a big part of his life: he and his family were long time members of the Romeo United Methodist Church. George is survived by his children: Barry Allen (Jane) Bryant and their daughter Casey, Jody Ann (Larry) Brandeberry and their children Bryan, Erin, & Kelly, Cindy Elaine (Donald) Simpson and their children Joshua & Katie, George Russell III (Monique) Bryant and their children Glory & Grace, Janie Carol (Timothy) Brown, Robert William (Andrea) Bryant Adam, Brittney, & Jessie, and Dorothy Kathleen (Donald) Vaxeliaire. George was also survived by his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Iver and Seth, and his sister Mary Jane (Rev. Jerry) Statler of Missouri. George was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Murray) Bryant, his parents George R. and Beulah Bryant, and grandson Jacob Bryant. He was also predeceased by brothers Paul E, Otis and Ireus, Oliver William, and sister Naomi Crosier. Funeral services will take place on February 26, at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Pastor Trevor Herm officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 and on Sunday from at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Burial will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washington Township.
