Irene Kelly

Irene Kelly, age 93, a resident of Romeo, Michigan, since 1961, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2020 in Oakland Township, Michigan. Irene was born April 4, 1927 in East Chicago Indiana, the daughter of Samuel and Anastasia (Anut) Mandrut. Irene graduated Marlette High School in 1947. After high school Irene worked as an X-Ray Tech at Henry Ford Detroit. Irene loved baking, canning and sewing. She even had a side business- “Draperies by Irene.” Irene was a hard worker, loved children, loved being a housewife & mother, and loved being with her grandchildren. She was well-known by all of the neighborhood kids. Irene is survived by her children Paul (Patti) Kelly of Lake Orion, Ron (Mary) Kelly of California, and Catherine Kelly of Romeo, as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Donald, son Dennis and grandson Scott Kelly. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11 A.M. at the Romeo Cemetery with Reverend Kim Newport officiating. Please pull in the back; look for the water tower.
