Karl Rapp

April 22, 1943 — August 26, 2015

Karl A. Rapp, age 72, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the McLaren Northern Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan. Karl was born April 22, 1943 in Mt Clemens, MI., the son of Herman and Therese (Fella) Rapp. He married the former Karen Harmon on November 25, 1967 at St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. The Rapp family owned and operated Rapp Orchard’s in Romeo for over 75 years. Along with their retail fruit store at the farm, they sold fruit at the Eastern Market in Detroit. Karl was a longtime member of the Fruit Growers Association, Macomb County Farm Bureau, and St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. Karl is survived by his wife Karen, sons: Jeff (Lisa) Rapp and Eric (Suzy) Rapp both of Washington Township. Grandchildren include Rachel, Karly, Cole, Trevor, & Alexa. Also survived by his brother Richard of Ray Township. Karl was preceded in death by his son Dan, brother Norbert and sister-in-law’s Michelle, and Cynthia. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3-8 and on Sunday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to St Jude’s would be appreciated.
