Agnes M. Evans, age 85, a lifelong Washington Township resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Orchard Groves Nursing Facility in Bruce Township, Michigan. Agnes was born October 26, 1934 in Washington Township, Michigan, the daughter of John and Marjorie (Trumble) Phillips. She married Thomas (George) Evans Sr. in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1987. Agnes worked many jobs over her life, working at Alward’s Market as a deli clerk, Big Red Orchards in the bakery, and as a clerk at Studebaker Auto plant in Shelby Township. Along with her family, they were lifelong members of Mt Vernon United Methodist Church in Washington Township. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading, and doing jig saw puzzles. Agnes is survived by her children: Theresa (Kevin) Longfield of Washington Township and Thomas (Lisa) Evans of Almont. Grandchildren include Kelsie, Jacelyn, Marissa, & Amanda. Siblings surviving include Nancy Richmond of Washington, MI., sister-in-law Sue Phillips of Lapeer, and Ted (Leslie) Phillips of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Sr., brother Daniel Phillips and brother Roger who died Friday August 21, 2020. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with burial to follow at Mt Vernon Cemetery in Washington Township. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 PM. **Please note that Michigan law permits a maximum of ten visitors in the visitation room at one time, and a face mask is required to enter the funeral home and church.***
