Agnes Marie Hopp

Agnes Marie Hopp, age 94, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. Agnes was born September 5, 1929, in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Eva (Perry) McInerney. She met Harold Hopp in 1947, son of George and Ina (Balch) Hopp, of Washington through a mutual friend and it was love at first sight. Agnes and Harold were married in Dighton, MA on June 11, 1949, while Harold was serving in the US Navy. After Harold was discharged they built a home together on Mound Road in Washington where they raised their four children.

Agnes enjoyed going to church , baking, playing cards, reading and spending time with family.

Agnes is survived by her children, Thomas (Felicia Reber) Hopp, Denise (Thomas) Obrecht, Karen Apczynski, David Hopp, brother, Robert (Janet) McInernery, sister-in-law, Eileen Hopp, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hopp on March 11, 2007.

There will be a private memorial service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Krupsky of Trinity Lutheran Church, Utica Mi officiating. Internment of cremains will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI at a later date.
