Albin J. Niemiec

June 28, 1927 — February 17, 2015

Albin J. Niemiec of Romeo, Michigan, age 87 passed away from natural causes on February 17, 2015 at Crittenton Hosptial. Beloved husband of Thelma for 58 years. Loving father of Gregory (his wife Kimberly) Niemiec. Loving grandfather of Donovan and Rochelle and step-grandfather of Brittany, Gabriele, Naomi and Haley. Brother of Norman (wife Dorothy) Niemiec. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Albin graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy (USS Belleau Wood) from 1945 until WWII ended in 1946. He then graduated from the University of Detroit in 1952, and gained his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was then employed by Vickers Inc., where he put 44 years of his hard work and time. He retired in 1994. Albin was assigned 50 U.S. patents (utility) during his career, and taught evening classes for Fluid Power Subjects at Macomb Community College for 14 years. He also served as chairman of the City of Sterling Heights, Building Authority for 10 years. Funeral services will take place Friday February 20, 2015 at 10 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Christian Memorial at 2:30 PM on Friday, 521 East Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307. Local arrangements made by the Malburg Funeral Home. Visitation: Visitation will be Thursday from 3 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Services: Funeral services will take place Friday February 20, 2015 at 10 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Interment: Burial will be at Christian Memorial at 2:30 PM on Friday, 521 East Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307.
