Alexander (Al) Motoligin, age 74, a 12 year resident of Goetzville, MI., and formerly from Almont, MI., passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Al was born May 24, 1943 in Detroit, the son of Alexander and Mary (Gajda) Motoligin. Al married Marion Cochrane on June 23, 1962 at the All Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Detroit. Al took over his father’s floral business in Detroit, then moved to East Pointe, and in 1976 opened “Motoligin’s Florist” in Romeo. In 2005 he retired and moved to Goetzville, MI in the Upper Peninsula, where he spent his retirement snowmobiling, fishing/ice fishing & hunting ducks/rabbits. Al is survived by his wife Marion, sons: Richard (Jan) of Romeo and David (Katie) of Memphis along with grandchildren Ashleigh, Brandon, and Mikala. Siblings include Paul (Shirley) Motoligin of Armada, Michael (Brenda) Motoligin of St Clair, and brother-in-law Tony Boscarino. Al was preceded in death by his sister Ilene Boscarino. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 22 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home (11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo Michigan 48065) with Archimandrite Pachomy, “Fr. John” , Abbot of: St Sabbas Orthodox Monastery, 18745 Old Homestead, Harper Woods, MI. 48225. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:30 till 8 PM. Burial will follow in Ferguson Cemetery in Almont, Michigan. Donations to the Karmanos Cancer Research would be appreciated.
