Alice G. Sabbe

Alice G. Sabbe, age 87, a lifelong Shelby Twp. Truck gardener, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Shelby Crossing Nursing Facility in Shelby Township MI.. Alice was born November 14, 1930 in Utica, MI., the daughter of Henry C. and Alice J. (VanThomme) Malburg. She married Albert Sabbe on Apr 7, 1951 at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica. Alice was a longtime member of St John & Paul Catholic Church in Washington Township. She was well known for her china paintings, quilting, and enjoyed golfing Alice is survived by her children: Mike (Kathleen) Sabbe of Knoxville, TN., Judy (Dan) Dina of Almont and Robert of Allenton, Michigan. Grandchildren include Bryan (Stephanie), Kyle (Mellissa), Jennifer (Aman) , Matthew (Stephanie), & Steven. Also survived by her siblings: Eilene (Maurice) DeHondt, Georgina (Don) Campbell & Grace DeBruyn and sister in laws Germaine Malburg, Clara Malburg & Agnes (John) Janicki. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Albert on May 29, 2009, grandson Andy, and siblings: Leonard, Charles, Frances Pewinski, Edward, Joseph, Evelyn VanPamel, & Henry Malburg. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10 AM at St John & Paul Catholic Church of Washington Twp. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 and on Friday from 2-8 with a 7 PM rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, MI. Donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation/Research would be appreciated. A special thanks to the Staff at Shelby Crossing Nursing Facility for all the care that was given to Alice.
