Allan Dale Scroggin, 34 year resident of Farmington Hills, recently of Imlay City, went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2018. Allan was born on November 19, 1945 to Phil and Hazel (Cline) Scroggin in Greencastle, Indiana. He graduated from Greencastle High School in 1965. Allan served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving two tours in Vietnam from 1965-1968, and the Air Force Reserves from 1968-1971. Allan earned his Associates Degree in Metallurgy at Schoolcraft College. He married Rita Jean Haas of Livonia, MI on November 2, 1980 at The Lord's House in Livonia. Together they raised a family of five children. He loved his family and raised them in a warm Christian home, he was a true "family man". Allan was also known as a "jack of all trades." He worked as a journeyman of Sheet Metal Prototype Model Maker at Creative Industries. While employed there, he assisted with building the first 12 Prototype Hummers under AM General for the U.S. Military. In Allan's later years prior to retirement, he was an instructor for the Machinist Program at Focus Hope Career Training Institute in Detroit, MI. Allan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rita Jean Scroggin; children Andrea (Gino) Baggio of Romeo, Katie (Andrew) Gould of Oak Park, Allan (Nichole) Scroggin of Imlay City, Joseph Scroggin of Port Huron and Matthew Scroggin of Oak Park; grandchildren Elijah, Mercedes, Sophia, Jayms, Carter, Symphony, Avah and Adelyn; siblings the late Carlyle (Sharon Cox), Robert (Karen), Frank (Rebecca), Jaunita (Doug) Smith, and Pyllis Scroggin. Allan was preceded in death by his parents Phil and Hazel (Cline) Scroggin and his brother Carlyle. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Allan on Saturday, December 8, at 11 a.m. at Lighthouse Worship Center (19827 Middle belt Road, Livonia, MI, phone: 248- 476-7933) his family will be welcoming friends for time of fellowship at 10 a.m. Local arrangements made by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
