Andrew J. Hill

Andrew J. Hill, age 80, a 20 year resident of Otter Lake, Michigan and formerly a 38 year resident of Romeo, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his home. Andy was born April 11, 1933 in Allenton, Michigan, the son of Walter and Edith (Crouch) Hill. He married the former Sally A. Strand at her mother’s home in Detroit on March 12, 1955. Andy and his family took over ownership of Romeo Café from his mother in 1970, and ran in till 1992 when he retired and moved to Otter Lake. Upon retirement, Andy worked making bird houses and working with wood. His love of golf was well known by all. He started the Romeo Café League over 50 years ago and it is still in existence today. Andy loved to watch the Detroit Tigers and Lions play their games. Andy is survived by his wife Sally, children: Denise Hill, Andrew J. Hill, II, Karen Bednark and Sandra (Russell) Howell all of Romeo and Pamela Hog of Texas. Grandchildren include Annie Hill and Leeann (Cory) Wininger. Also survived by his sisters, Margaret Lildley of Florida and Catherine Ives of Romeo. He was preceded in death by his siblings Walter, John, Dorothy Lee and MJ Clutterbuck. Memorial service will take place on Friday at 7 PM with pastor John Waters from the River of God church officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
