Angela Raffa, age 104, a 50-year resident of Washington, MI, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022, surrounded by the family she devoted her life to.
Angela was born on October 8, 1918 in Elmora, PA, the daughter of Nunziato and Conchetta (Isgro) Dominick. She was married for 70 year to Frank T. Raffa, whom she wed on September 6, 1941 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmora, PA. They had nine children. Angela was predeceased by her husband, Frank T. Raffa and her daughter, Camille Raffa Dietz.
She was an avid churchgoer, attending St. Clement of Rome Church of Romeo for 50 years. She and her husband loved to tend their garden and can vegetables they harvested from it. Even in the last two years, she could be found baking bread or making sauce and meatballs. She enjoyed word search and jigsaw puzzles. She played Scrabble and in later years preferred the game Upwords. She loved visits with family.
Angela is survived by her Children: son Charles(Diane) of Bruce Twp.; daughter Adrienne (John) Prsybysz of Rochester Hills; daughter Connie of Beverly Hills; son Nance (Sherian) of Rochester Hills; son Frank P (Colette)of Ortonville; son Samuel PhD.(Nancy) of Rochester; son-in-law Richard Dietz of Detroit; son Anthony (Sandra) of Kawkawlin; and James (Lou Anne) of Washington Twp. HerGrandchildren: Luis of Pontiac, Jose, Claudia and GustavoRaffa of Utica; Thomas Aquisto, MD of Paradise Valley, AZ; and Michelle (Todd) VanElsacker of Bay City; Amy (Daniel) Fregia of Houstin, TX; Anthony(Kaylee) Raffa of Saranac; Caroline (Kyle) Rowe of Lake Orion;Jonathan (Lia) Raffa of Orion Twp.; Emily (Peter) Miele of Clarkston; Elizabeth Raffa (John Ekdom) of Portage; Bethany (Evan) Delmotteof Bruce Twp.; Catherine (Joe) Favazza of Washington; Sarah (Christopher, MD) Cooper of Sterling Hgts.; Kristi (Riley) Paxton of Pontiac.Great-grandchildren: Alex (Kayla) and Shane VanElsacker of Bay City; Montgomery Raffa of Saranac; Hunter, Danielle and Natalie Delmotte of Bruce Twp.; and Great-great grandchild Andrea VanElsackerof Bay City, as well as nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sister Marie Teresa Leonard of Harrisburg, PA and brother Jack Dominick of Carrolltown, PA.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 31 at St. Clement of Rome Church of Romeo. Services will be held at noon, and in-state from 11:30AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at the Bruce-Armada Cemetery
