Angeline B. Beecher, age 91, of Romeo went to be with The Lord on March 28, 2021. Angeline was a beloved wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was happily married for 70 years to the love of her life, Richard who predeceased her in June of 2020. Angeline is survived by daughter Carla (Keith) Hilton, son Roger (Diane) Beecher, brother Arthur (Irene) Kiehnau, granddaughter Rebecca (Craig) Esper, granddaughter Rachel (Daniel) Cantillon, Grandson Michael (Christina) Hilton, Grandson Joshua Hilton, grandson Lester (Christina) Hilton and nine great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.Angeline was also loved by many dear friends whom she treasured. She taught first through fourth grade at Redeemer Lutheran in WI. After moving to Romeo from Detroit, she became an active member in the Romeo Historical Society. Angeline and Richard were presented with an “Official Tribute” from the Macomb County Board of Commissioners for their “Diligent efforts to coordinate and mobilize your community to successfully preserve Romeo’s historical identity with the United States Postal Service. You’ve heard the old saying “You can’t fight City Hall.” Well, the Beechers and several members of the local community did, and they won! 48095 was designated as a dual postal code status: Romeo/Washington. Angie was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Fellowship in Romeo. She served on the original building committee and again when the church built an addition. She was instrumental in involving Grace with “His Table,” a community meal served to the less fortunate each week at the neighborhood Methodist church. Operation Christmas Child is a mission outreach program that was the nearest and dearest to Angie’s very generous heart. Since 2004, ladies from Grace would gather in the Beecher’s basement to pack shoe boxes. At first they began packing in October, but as the years went by, they started earlier and earlier. Last year, 1,066 filled shoe boxes from Grace were gifted to children around the world who were introduced to the saving love of Jesus. In lieu of flowers, Angie would be honored by items to be used in the filling of shoe boxes: school supplies, crayons, coloring books, wash cloths, bar soap, combs, tooth brushes, small plush animals, toys, balls, cars/trucks, clothing and shoes for children ages 2-14. Nothing breakable, liquid, used or war related. Items must be able to fit in a shoe box.
