Anna Marie Markiewicz

Anna Marie Markiewicz, age 71, passed away on October 22, 2023 with family by her side in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Anna was born on April 29, 1952 in Warren Township, the daughter of Anton and Bertha (Gardine) Ackerman.

Anna grew up in Center Line, Michigan, attended St. Clement School, and graduated class of 1970. She worked as a designer for General Motors, retiring from the Tech Center in 2014. She loved and cared for all animals; establishing the farm Dream Land Alpacas and nurturing the numerous animals her daughters brought home to “rescue.” Anna’s genuinely kind and caring personality left a lasting impression on all those she interacted with. Her greatest joy in life was watching her daughters and grandson grow, and spending time with loved ones.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Dana Markiewicz of Battle Creek, Andrea Markiewicz of Akron, Ohio, and Marlena (Timothy) Markiewicz of Portage and her grandson, Tucker Tyranski. Also her siblings, Anton (MaryRita) Ackerman of Gaylord, John (Joan) Ackerman of Florida, Joe (Marsha) Ackerman of Cheboygan, Mike (Kimberley) Ackerman of Florida, Jim (Jackie) Ackerman of Florida, and Rick Ackerman of Tawas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Bertha, and sisters in law, MaryRita, and Marsha.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 2-8 pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10am, also at the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
