Antonio (Tony) Angotti

October 22, 1935 — July 1, 2013

Antonio (Tony) Angotti, age 77, a resident of Washington Township and previously from Italy & Switzerland, passed away at his home on Monday, July 1, 2013 surrounded by his family & friends. Tony was born in Rome, Italy and raised by his beloved maternal grandparents Antonio & Angela (Formentin) Cepile in Marano (Udine) Italy. He was the son of Salvatore & Anna (Cepile) Angotti. Tony was married to the love of his life, Teresina Domanico for 54 years. Tony was a professional soccer player for his home town team for many years in Italy. He is still a hero in his home town for his soccer accomplishments from many years ago. After moving to the United States in 1976, Tony eventually retired from Ford Motor Company in the 1990s. Tony was well known for his friendliness, honesty, integrity, kindness, compassion, loyalty, humanitarian spirit, and to know him was to love him. Once you have met Tony, he was a person you could never forget. Tony is survived by his wife Teresa, 6 children (Salvatore, Anna, Mario, Sergio, and twins Margherita & Antonello), 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren: Salvatore (Kathy) and grandchildren: Melissa & Anthony Maniscalco, Elizabeth & Ahmed Kaarali, Anthony & Adrianna Angotti; Anna (George) Portell and their children: George IV., Nicholas, & Alexander; Mario (Sharon) and their children: Brandi & Kevin Ortbals, Candice & Kyle Raeb, Antonio (Tony), & Teresina (Tressa); Sergio (MaryBeth) and their children: Michael, Marc, & Christopher; and twins Margherita Angotti and Antonello (Tony) and his children Adam Giovanni and Joshua. Great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Luca, Ali, Olivia, Landon, and Matthew David Also survived by one sister Rosy in Europe. Tony was preceded in death by brothers Marcello & Bruno and his sister Caterina Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 5 at 1 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Fr. Jerry Kessel officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 5 from 10am till 1 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
