Barbara A. Janicki

Barbara Janicki, age 91, a 42 year resident of Deckerville, and recently lived in Chesterfield, passed away on March 11, 2023 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. Barbara was born on December 15, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Herit. She married her high school love, Frank Janicki, on November 10, 1951 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica, Michigan. Frank preceded her in death on October 5, 2013.

Barbara loved the Lord, and loved volunteering at church. She taught catechism, and was involved in the grief counseling ministry. After raising six children, she went back to school to become a RN. She loved quilting, and made many for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her twin brother Ronald Herit of Clinton Township, Michigan, children, David (Christine) of St. Clair, Mark (Kathie) of New Baltimore, Michael (Patricia) of Kalispel, Montana, and Joseph (Jayne) of Blairsville, Georgia. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she dearly loved, with more on the way. She was predeceased by her son James in 1985, and daughter Catherine in 2022.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 2:00PM - 8:00PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:00AM at St. Clement Catholic Church.
