Barbara A. Nosek

Barbara A. Nosek, age 79 of Rockford, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Van Wert Community Hospital in Van Wert, OH. Barbara was born March 12, 1933 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of George and Barbara (Kaschak) Barna. After her father’s death, her mother remarried, and she was adopted by her step-father, Matt Samboric. In May, 1958, she married Edward Eugene Nosek and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1961. Barbara graduated from Rockford High School, and then moved to Romeo, Michigan in 1971. She moved back to Rockford in October of 2011. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church of Rockford, was an avid reader, loved painting, and was an excellent artist. Barbara is survived by her daughter Teresa Rauch of Rockford and granddaughter Amanda (Anthony) Lachowicz of Washington Township. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Barna of Westland, MI and Bea Nosek of Mendon, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Ann Jackson, brothers; George, Joseph, John, and Jim Barna and sisters; Evelyn Shafer and Mary Barna. Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo, Michigan from 3-8 PM. Memorial services will follow on Saturday, November 3 at 10 AM at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, IN with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke officiating.
