Barbara Jean Rott

Barbara Jean Rott, age 73, resident of Romeo for over 36 years, passed away at Troy Beaumont with her daughter by her side on November 6th, 2023, after a battle with ovarian cancer. Barbara was born on September 26, 1950, in Virginia, daughter of Monroe and Agnes Owens (Haggy).

Barbara married Danny in a loving ceremony 42yrs ago at Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended Pontiac Central High School class of 1969. Barbara worked for Champion Spark Plug company for 25yrs, also Hapag-Lloyd shipping for many years. She had such a love for animals, volunteering through her church for kids boxes for toys, and most of all loved her daughter and her entire family. She was an amazingly giving person who would do anything for anyone in need, and always put family and needs of others before her own. She took care of her mother during her final years. Barbara would go out of her way to see any animal in need was taken care of and it brought her great joy to greet any dog with a bright warm smile. She was a great friend, sister, daughter, wife, adoring and loving mother.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband Dan of Romeo, and her only child, daughter, Kimberly Morales of Bloomfield Hills whom she shared a heart filled bond. Sister, Opal Marie (John) Dennis of Metamora, and brothers John Ralph Owens of Attica, Martin Christopher Owens of Sterling Heights, and Ron Owens of Brown City. Her dogs, “Coco&Duff”. She will be greatly missed, always cherished and forever and ever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on November 9th, 2023, from 3-6pm at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo. Funeral service will begin at 6pm.
