Bernice Baker

Bernice Baker, age 77, a 46 year resident of Armada Twp., passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008 at her home.  Bernice was born November 18, 1930 in Colson, Kentucky, the daughter of Lenville and Verna (Bowen) Thomas.  She married Lester Baker in December of 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2000.  Bernice worked as a nurses aid at both Fair Acres Nursing Home in Armada and at the Romeo Nursing Home.  Along with her family, they were founding members of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Ray Township and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star.       Bernice is survived by her children,  Wallace (Tina) Baker of Oxford, MI., James R. (Sylvia) of Armada Twp., and H. Faye (Henry) White of Utica.  Also survived by 10 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Ray Thomas.      Funeral services will take place at noon on Monday at the Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Ray Township with Pastor Ron Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow in the Imlay Township Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Henry M.
