Bettie M Lester

Bettie M. Lester, age 83, a Romeo resident, passed away at her home on January 26, 2023. Bettie was born on August 21, 1939, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Ford) Murphy.

She was very active in the Romeo, Washington, Bruce Twp area. Bettie was very active in the VFW Post 2052, where she was the Chaplin for the ladies auxiliary. She loved playing Euchre, eating ice cream, and watching hot air balloons. She was a member at the St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, where she liked to helped with the Trunk or Treat. Bettie was also involved in the Peach Festival Children’s Parade.

Bettie is survived by her son Rob (Debe) Lester of Mt. Clemens, and siblings: Doug (Ruth) Murphy of Almont, Dave Murphy of Attica, Ron (Linda) Murphy of Grayling.  Also 3 Grandchildren and 8 Great Granchildren.

Predeceased by her children: Janice, Eddie, and Sheila. Also siblings: Edward Murphy of Almont, Margaret Lesner of Almont, and Leona Matthews of Clarkston. Also her very special friend Orville.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 11, 2023 from 1:00pm-5:00pm at the Striber-McVicar VFW Post 2052.
