Betty J. Tiede

Betty J. Tiede, age 92, a lifelong Ray Township resident passed away on Tuesday, November 6 at the Brookdale Assisted Living in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Betty was born January 3, 1926 in Armada, Michigan, the daughter of John and Evelyn (Deacons) Brush. She married Edward A. Tiede on April 12, 1947 in Capac, Michigan and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2000. Betty retired from General Motors on March 1, 1980 after 34 years of service at its SPO Plant (Service Parts Operations) in Pontiac, MI. Upon retirement she enjoyed baking and was very active as a lifelong member of the Washington Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her two sons, Robert (Nancy) Tiede of Grand Blanc, Michigan and James Tiede of Bryon, Michigan. Grandchildren include Robert II, Christopher, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Ashley, & Daniel and also survived by 6 great grandchildren and on sister Sharon Woolman. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Marion Walker. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Washington First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 and on Friday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to the Washington First Baptist Church Youth Group would be appreciated.
