Betty Jean Wright

Betty Jean Wright of Chesterfield, MI passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday October 13, 2018 at her daughter’s home. Betty was born on March 3, 1930 to George and Gladys (Williams) Wilhelm in Akron, Ohio. Betty retired from the Grosse Pointe Post office after 16 years and previously worked at the Post Office in downtown Detroit. She enjoyed politics, reading the paper, and watching the Detroit Tigers. Betty is survived by her children Becky (the late Farley) Hargis of Vansant, VA; Timothy (Shannon Maday) Wright of Capac, MI; Gladys (Raymond) Howarth of Chesterfield, MI; Nancy (Terry) Richarson of Port Huron, MI; Wendell (Peggy) Wright of Livonia, MI; and brother Jack Williams. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Richard Wilhelm. A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 26 at 7 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday from 3-8 PM on Friday.
