Betty L. Walton

February 16, 1930 — March 17, 2023

Betty Lorraine Walton, born February 16, 1930, beloved wife of deceased Robert Harold Walton, passed from this life peacefully in her home on March 17, 2023. She was the daughter of Ronald and Mary Stewart and sister of Eileen Call and Donnajean Call.


Betty and Bob had 4 children. She is survived by Cynthia Ann, married to James Wade, Nancy Kay married to Dennis Garner, Robin Lea married to Henry Steaban. Richard Michael Walton passed from life at one month of age. She is survived by many grand and great grandchildren.She was a devoted and generous mother and grandmother who left her family with a lifetime of joy filled memories, and modeled a ridiculous work ethic, high standards and generosity for others.

Betty was a longtime resident of Almont, Michigan living on their cherished farm from the time of her marriage to Bob in 1950. Betty was an avid flower gardener. She loved to open her home and gather friends and family for great food and fellowship.


She started a career at the Edison Company which she left at the time of her marriage as they only employed single women. Betty contributed to the successful Walton Dairy Farm by bookkeeping and financial management. As she raised her family, she became employed in the Almont School systems in 1962. She was a well know secretary there for 40 years. In 2017 she was inducted into the Almont Athletic Hall of Fame for her role supporting the Athletic Director.

Betty was a member of the Almont Congregational Church from the time of her marriage. She was a member of the Almont Literary Club and a longtime, devoted member of the Ferguson Cemetery Board.


Visitation for family and friends will be open at the Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan onSunday, March 19th, 3p.m. – 8 p.m..Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, March 20th at the First Congregational Church, Almont Michigan followed by graveside services. A funeral luncheon will follow at Almont Congregational Church.
