Betty Lee Hardbarger

Betty Lee Hardbarger, age 76, a resident of Shelby Township since 2008, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Corewell Troy Beaumont Hospital. Betty was born January 17, 1948 in Sardis, Ohio, the daughter of John R. and Hazel (Fankhauser) Riggenbach. Betty married Dwayne Hardbarger on December 9,1967 in West Virginia. She originally worked as a key punch operator at Public Debt, then as a Real Estate Secretary before moving on to spend many years at IBM where she remained until her retirement in 2000.

Betty was a great friend to many. She had a heart to serve and a kind word for all. She was a loving and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to knit, read, play UNO, travel, spend time with family, and spoil her grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by her husband, Dwayne Hardbarger of Shelby Township, sons Brian (Linda) Hardbarger and Todd (Michelle) Hardbarger, siblings, Eleanor (Roy) Schindler, Wayne (Clara) Riggenbach, and grandchildren, Alex, Katherine, Nicholas, Ava, Daniel and Caleb. She is predeceased by her brother Vernon Riggenbach, sister Ruth Headley, and brother Gene

Riggenbach.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Woodside Bible Church (7800 32 Mile Road, Washington, Michigan 48095). Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
