Beverly Ann Seldon, born June 5th, 1930 beloved wife of Richard Anthony Seldon (married 57 years), Mom to sons Gary Richard Seldon, Bary William Seldon and Richard Matthew Seldon, went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2023. She was the daughter of Aileen and William McLaughlin.
If your reading this and you knew her, you knew she loved life and her family. She always said her main goal in life was to have a family and a home. She accomplished this and so much more. She not only built a family but a lasting legacy that will continue forever.
Beverly’s 3 sons, Gary, Bary and Rick gave Mom many grand kids. William, Melissa, Genelle, Bary, Nolan and Sabrina plus 3 great grand kids.
Mom modeled a ridiculous work ethic for her kids and grand kids. She worked into her 80’s and was only slowed because of the pandemic. Her house was extremely clean and when you visited her house, you took your shoes off or received a serious talking to! Mom loved to be involved with special events and was a stickler in making sure there was plenty of food, as food was one of her love languages. She would also be the first to clean up no matter how many dishes there were. Her flower gardens were a top priority and when spring rolled around the work began and she treated them with care and love.
From an early age Mom had a flair for interior design and fashion. She went to Wayne State for interior design and spent a large portion of her early working years employed by various interior decorators. It was fun to watch her get excited about buying a new piece of furniture, rug, window coverings, wallpaper or simply painting a room to bring in color. This attention to detail continued with her attire. Mom was always dressed classy and her attention to detail with clothing accessories was always spot on.
Mom wasn’t a complainer and in fact she reminded us to be grateful for what we have, especially family and health. She would say to strive to be your best, and that all things were possible if you were willing to roll up your sleeves and work for it.
We could go on about Mom, but wanted to share one last awesome thing about her. Over the last several years she found Jesus. Her desire to have an understanding of her relation with Christ led to her positive outlook on life every day. This gave her so much energy and comfort because when the time came for her to leave this earth, she knew she would go home to be with her Father in heaven and live eternally. It was also her desire for ALL of us to have a similar belief and this starts with our salvation. We have comfort in knowing Mom loved the Lord and she is with Him now.
We have lots of video and pictures of Mom that will keep her alive on this earth, but we know IF we make the right choices, we will see her again one day in HEAVEN!
AMEN!
