Billy Dale Jones

Billy Dale Jones, age 58, a 4 year resident of Imlay City, and previously from Crossville, TN., and born and raised in Romeo, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. Billy was born June 1, 1956 in Detroit, the son of Billy Darst and Margaret Jane (Ezell) Jones. After graduating from Romeo High School in 1975, Billy graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Sociology. He then worked from 1993 till 2005 in Child Protective Services in Tennessee and trained foster parents for many years. Upon retirement, he moved back to Michigan and enjoyed fishing and just being around people, especially his longtime Romeo friends. Billy is survived by siblings: Lynda (Edie) Apley of Harbor Beach, Gary (Linda) Jones & Beverly (Dean) Jones both of Tennessee and Brenda (Tom) Murray of Romeo and special friends, Penny and Dean Orr of Imlay City. He was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Lee Jones in 2005 and his parents Billy and Margaret Jones. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with visitation on Thursday from 2-8 PM. Burial will follow in the West Berlin Cemetery in Allenton, Michigan.
