Bob J. Dupont, age 66, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Bob was born June 26, 1945 in Mt Clemens, the son of Jules and Yulah (Smith) Dupont. Bob married the former Linda McVicar on December 2, 1967 at the First Congregational Church in Romeo. After serving in the Army in Vietnam, Bob started working for Michigan Bell in Line Repair & Installation and after 30 years retired (now AT & T) in 1996. Upon retirement, he helped many families with their telephone line repair in the Romeo area. He graduated from Romeo High School in 1964 and enjoyed fishing and traveling in his retirement years. Also, a longtime member of the Striber-McVicar Post # 2052 in Romeo. Bob is survived by his wife Linda of Romeo, children: Andrew (Pamela) Dupont of Washington, MI., and Julie (Dave) Moschet of Dearborn, MI., and his grandchildren Jackson & Ava Moschet. Also survived by his two sisters, Mary Jane (John) Streeter of Fruitport, MI. and Ruth Adams of Idaho. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Nathan Bills of the Stoney Creek Community Church of Washington Township officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 3-9 at the Funeral Home.
