Bruce Dodson

T. Bruce Dodson, age 73, a 35 year resident of Romeo passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007 at St Joseph Medical Center in Clinton Twp.  Bruce was born April 9, 1934 in Orleans Parish, LA. The son of Charles and Helen (McNeill) Dodson.  He married Trudy Bannow in Dec. of 1981 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Romeo.  Bruce retired as a liason engineer at General Motors  Truck and Bus after 35 years in 1987.  Upon retirement, Bruce worked at the Bannow School of Floral Design in Utica and helped out his wife Trudy at Bannow Flowers in Romeo.  Bruce was active in many civic activities in the Romeo area.  He was on the Romeo DDA when it first started, longtime Romeo Lions member, serving twice as President and many years as  a secretary, was  given the Melvin Jones Lifetime Achievement Award, helped with the White Cane fund raiser,  and was a longtime member of the Romeo Peach Festival where he was the grounds chairman.  Bruce  was a longtime member of the Romeo Goodfellows, cooked for the homeless with MCREST, member of the Romeo Mason Lodge #41, member of the Royal Arch Chapter # 17, and a member of the Romeo Commandry #6., was on the Bruce Twp. Zoning Board of appeal, former Romeo Elks member,  and a longtime member of St Paul's Episcopal Church of Romeo.  Bruce also worked with the Marinelli Foundation & the Bear Lake Youth Camp. Bruce was also a graduate of GMI in Flint and was also an Eagle Scout.       Bruce is survived by his wife Trudy of Romeo, children Julie (Chris) McCready of Ravenna, MI. and Tom (Chip) Dodson of Westlake Village, CA and one granddaughter Melissa.  Also survived by siblings Durette (Lorie) Dodson of CA., Helen Dodson of PA., and Mary Ann Dodson of TX.  He was preceded in death by his brother Charles.      Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11 AM at St Paul's Episcopal Church of Romeo with the Rev. Stacy Salles officiating.  Burial will be at the Romeo Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Henry M.
