Bueford Henry Rickman, age 89, passed away on January 26, 2022 at his home in Washington Township. Bueford was born in Missouri on June 13, 1932, son of Harley and Hazel Rickman. Bueford - or “Rick”, as he preferred to be called - was a devoted husband to Margaret for 67 years. He was a cherished father to his sons Bryan and David, and beloved father-in-law to Karen and Stacey. He was a very proud Papa to Shane, Breanna, Samuel, and Noah. He grew up in rural Nebraska with his sisters Marjorie and Wanda, playing many sports and excelling in grade school and college. He served in the army, moved to Michigan, and embarked upon a career in education. After being a teacher and principal in the L’Anse Creuse Public School District, Rick enjoyed a long tenure as the Deputy Superintendent of the Macomb Intermediate School District. Away from the office and throughout his retirement, Rick enjoyed woodworking. He built beautiful furniture, usually for others, which will be treasured by future generations. He was a passionate and skilled fisherman, who enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin in northern Michigan. Rick gave unconditional support to those he loved. He was exceptionally kind and helpful to others. He was quick-witted and loved to make others laugh. He was without question an honorable man, who will be truly missed. Local arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mi.
