Buford E. Herron

Buford E. Herron, age 81, a 54 year resident of Ray Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Buford was born November 12, 1933 in Guntersville, Alabama, the son of Thomas and Sarah (Whitehead) Herron. He married the former Dolores Schultz on August 28, 1954 at St John Lutheran Church in Romeo. After serving 10 years in the Air Force, mostly stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Harrison Township, Buford worked for General Motors and retired after 30 years from the Drayton Plains Assembly in 1995. He was an avid sports fan, especially watching Alabama Football and going camping around Michigan. Along with his wife, they were long members of St John Lutheran Church of Romeo. Buford is survived by his wife Dolores of Ray Michigan, children: Randy (Luisa) Herron and Darcel Bennett both of Washington, Michigan and Deanna (Jeff) Shultis of Sterling Heights, MI. Also survived by grandchildren Eric, Melissa, Tiffany, Christopher, Amanda, and Adam. Great grandchildren include Dimitri, Madison, and Riley. Also survived by siblings: Jerry (Brenda) of South Carolina, Sylvia (Larry) Dickerson and Rosie (James) Hale both of Kentucky. Buford was preceded in death by his daughter Kim along with 4 siblings. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Martin Gehring officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 3-8 at the Henry M.
