Calvin H. Winters

Cal Winters, age 94 was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Twp., Michigan. Cal was born on March 6, 1928 the son of Claude and Gladys (Wilson). He married the late Katie Bishop on March 27, 1948. He was a World War II veteran. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. Cal was a charter member of Stoney Church. Since retiring he enjoyed his many vintage cars, car shows and car cruises, as well as automotive side jobs such as polishing vintage stainless steel parts. Cal was a hard working, loving and God fearing man who loved burned hot dogs, his little dog Hershall, bluegrass gospel music and he was especially proud of his large family of over 200.

Cal is survived by 11 of his 13 children; twins Marlene of Almont and Darlene (Jerry) Gallagher of Shelby Twp. Mike (Ersella) of Shelby Twp., Sherry (Charlie) Gomes of Bruce Twp., Doug (Terri) of Romeo, Deenie (Dave) Degroff of Richmond, Sheila (Jim) Sangster of Shelby Twp.,Jewell (Ed) Prieskorn of Lenox Twp., Kim Guerra of Bruce Twp., Greg (Wendy) of Washington Twp., Kelly (Paul) VanHaverbeck of Almont, and daughter in law Gloria (Tim) of Romeo. Also survived by 37 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.

Cal was preceded in death by his loving wife Katie (Bishop) on April 7, 2018. Son Timothy, daughter Cynthia, son in laws Richard Dickson, Doug Hathcock and John Guerra. Three infant children Sandra L., Calvin Jr., and Gary M.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10 AM at the Stoney Community Church (11711 26 Mile Road, Washington, Michigan 48094). Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 1-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery.
