Carleton R. Depew

Carleton R. DePew, age 82, a 9 year resident of Macomb and formerly a lifelong resident of the Romeo and the Mt Clemens area, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Wellbridge of Romeo. Carl was born on June 4, 1942, the son of Raymond and Zora DePew. He married Kathleen White, July 28, 1978 at St. Paul’s church in Romeo.

Carleton loved to hunt, fish, golf and play cards. He was an excellent carpenter and builder even constructing his own house with the help of his family.

Carleton is survived by his children, daughter, Diane (Curtis), Palazzola, of Shelby Township, Marcia (John) Monnette of Romeo, and son, Geoffrey (Sue) DePew of Evert. Grandchildren include Tom (Ciara) DePew, Parma, OH, Angela Palazzola of Phoenix, Az, Alex (Karry-Ann) DePew of Brown City, Cullen Monnette of Birmingham, Eric Jacks of Romeo, Keigan Monnette of Belleville, and Leanna Jacks, of Grand Rapids.

Great Grandchildren are Jaxson DePew and Aidan DePew and soon to be a cousin, to baby DePew, in February 2025.

Carleton’s body will be cremated and a Memorial Dinner will be held for the family August 17.
