Carol Loraine Phillips

Carol Loraine Phillips, born on December 7, 1929 and passed away from natural causes on June 11, 2023 at 93 years of age. Carol was married to her beloved Russell on November 25, 1950 and they enjoyed married life together for 70 years. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children, Gail and Gary.

Carol loved to bake for the family, if you ever proclaimed to like something she made, it would forever be served to you whenever she had the opportunity. She was an accomplished seamstress, often making her own clothes and tailoring Russell’s suits. She enjoyed many styles of crafting, needle work, and being a member of Eastern Star. She and Russ enjoyed going on ship cruises, playing Bridge and Pinochle with many friends and Carol always had a deck of cards handy for a quick game of Solitaire. Carol worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Jim’s Collision shop, she was the neighborhood Avon lady and President of the mother’s club at her children’s grade school. She loved her family most of all and was always available to babysit for a grandchild or Great grandchild. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 2021.

Carol is survived by; her daughter Gail and Gail’s Children, Jenny Barbieri (Jason Hernden) and Scott Cieszkowicz and by; her son Gary, wife Martha, and their children Christine (Jason) Aleksandrowicz, Michael (Melissa) Phillips and Dr. Sarah (David) Lawler. The bright stars in her life were always her great grandchildren, Anthony & Angelina Barbieri, Parker & Carter Aleksandrowicz and Eleanor Lawler.

Carol will be dearly missed for her loving care of her family, making lots of cookies during the holiday season, and ensuring no one ever left her house without a “care package of snacks”.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023 11:00 AM, at Grace Lutheran Fellowship, Romeo, Michigan. Visitation with the family will be on Friday June 16, 2023 from 4-8 PM at the Henry Malburg Funeral home, Romeo, Michigan.
