Carol M. Leonard

Carol M. Leonard, age 83, a 44 year resident of Leonard, Michigan, passed away at her home on Friday, May 28, 2021. Carol was born December 19, 1937 in St Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur J. and Elizabeth (Schoendienst) Tiefenbrunn. After High School, Carol worked as a secretary for General Motors where she met Robert E. Leonard who she married on April 30, 1960 at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in St Louis. Robert soon got transferred to General Motors in Detroit and they moved to Leonard, Michigan and they were married till 2011 when Bob passed away. Carol worked at the Oxford Bank in Oakland Township for over 20 year, before retiring in 2010 at its Assistant Manager. Upon retirement, she had more time to golf on her two golf leagues, played bridge twice a week with her many friends, was a board member of the Romeo/Washington Chamber of Commerce, travel, many years volunteering on the elections polls in Addison Township, on a stock club, garden club, and a member of St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. Carol is survived by her 2 children, Robert E. Leonard, Jr. of Farmington Hills and Patricia Ann (Paul) Fons of Allenton, MI. Also survived by 2 grandchildren: Carol Ann Fons and Paul (Summer) Fons and Carol’s 2 great grandchildren Jonathan & Colt. Also survived by siblings: Joan (preceded by Paul) Grawe, Jack (Carol) Tiefenbrunn (deceased), Jim Tiefenbrunn, (deceased), Rose (Gary) Kreienheder, Rita Cochran & Terry (Bill) Meyer.. Carol was also preceded in death by her second husband John Medaugh on June 21, 2013. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 4 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church (343 S. Main, Romeo, Michigan 48065). Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
