Carole Jean Redd

Carole J. Redd, age 78, a 30 year resident of Almont Township and formerly from the Romeo area, passed away at her home on Monday, February 5, 2024. Carole was born October 20, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Ralph & Ethel (Whiting) Shafer. She married Charles Redd on August 8, 1964 at the Romeo United Methodist Church. Carole last worked at Husdson’s/Macy’s Department Store at the Lakeside Mall in retail. She also worked at Pat’s Jewelry Store in Romeo and for the Yarn Shop in Romeo. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her garden, sewing, traveling, and going on snowmobile trips.

Carole is survived by her husband Chuck, daughters: Andrea (Andy) Szasz of Armada and Lisa (Dave) Faris of Almont. Grandchildren include Jessie Knuppenburg, Andrew Jr. & Fatima Szasz, Haleigh (Grant) Groomes and Austin Faris. Great granddaughter Eleanor Groomes was born last week and Carole is also survived by her siblings: Donald (Barbara) Hayes, Gary Hayes, and Susan Head. She was preceded in death by grandson Drew.

Carole’s memorial service will take place on Thursday, February 8 at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church (298 Main Street, Romeo Michigan 48065) with Pastor Devin R. Smith officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Donations to the ALS Foundation (24359 Northwestern Highway, Suit # 100, Southfield Michigan 48075) would be appreciated. Local arrangement by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
