Cecilia L. Kaltz, age 97, a resident of Almont and formerly from Macomb Township, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Vista Springs Nursing Facility in Washington Township, Michigan. Cecilia was born October 29, 1923 in Hamtramck, MI., the daughter of James & Clara (Brinkman) Campbell. She married Leon LaGrou on May 12, 1943 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 26,1945 and then married Andrew Kaltz on April 21, 1948 at St Anne’s Catholic Church in Warren and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1995. For many years, along with her husband & family, they were the owners/operator of Kaltz Nursery in Macomb Township from 1955-1989. They were chartered members of St Isidore’s Catholic Church in Macomb Township where she served as the President/treasurer of the Altar Society and upon moving to Almont, were long time members of St John’s Catholic Church in Allenton, MI., where she also was a a member of its Altar Society. Her hobbies include gardening and working in her perennial flower garden. Cecilia is survived by her son Jim (Barb) LaGrou of Armada Twp., and daughter in law Patricia along with grandchildren Dawn, Mark, & Michael Kaltz, Edward (Mary) LaGrou, Robert LaGrou, and Michelle (Kevin) Miazek. Great grandchildren include Hope, Brandon, Owen, Andrew, Jacob, Addysen, and Lauren. Sisters surviving include Clara Malburg & Rosalie Debeaussaert and sister-in-laws Georgina Campbell & Leona Rotarias. She was preceded in death by her son David, son-in-law Richard Kenny, great granddaughter Emily Miazek, siblings: Bernadine Monnig, Madeline Theut, Geralda Kaltz, Lorraine Trombley, Louis, Arthur, James, Anthony, Raymond, Robert and Donald Campbell. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 20 at 10 AM at St John Catholic Church, Allenton MI. with private burial (Family Only) at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp., MI. Visitation will take place on Friday from 1-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan with a 4 PM rosary. Donations to the Leukemia Society would be appreciated.
