Charles D. Fouts

March 14, 1938 — January 14, 2018

Charles D. Fouts Sr., age 79, passed away on January 14, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Charles was born on March 14, 1938 the son of Blanton and Myrtle (Compton).Charles was a family man…a Godly man. His Love of God, family, the outdoors and family heritage was well known. He was a southern gentleman at heart, proud of his family roots established in the hills of The Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. He would make this and the ocean a common vacationing trip and to meet the relatives. Many family vacations of camping, hunting & fishing were taken annually and this idea was passed along to his sons and many friends/relatives whom would join them. He had an inquisitive nature growing up and had acquired many skills, which drove him to the drafting and engineering field. He graduated with honors from college (Macomb, Warren & Lawrence Tech). He then excelled in his career of the automotive, Missile & Defense Industry. His knowledge and skills were taught to his sons whether it be a home/construction project, automotive repair, hunting & fishing success, or just the drive to tackle and complete any project with confidence. He and wife Diane instilled a quality in their sons to help each other out in time and need, and that “many hands make light work”. Friends and neighbors were also treated as family and they may even have learned a thing or two in the Fouts household. They most definitely heard a few good stories. A constant phrase from Charles to his sons was always to TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY, BE ALERT, and THINK. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Diane. Children: Charles Dee Fouts, Jr., Robert Fouts (deceased), Richard Fouts (deceased), Norman Fouts (Sandra), Ronald Fouts (Heather), Walter Fouts (Paula).
