Charles K. Richardson

Charles K. Richardson, age 72, a 7 year resident of St. Helen, Michigan and formerly a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at his daughter’s home in Almont. Chuck was born June 5, 1941 in Yale, Michigan, the son of Kenneth and Ethelwynne (McKee) Richardson. He married the former Peggy Clydesdale on May 19, 1962 at St John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church in Allenton, Michigan. Chuck, along with his family owned and operated the Romeo Meat Market till 1977 and then for the next 28 years worked in maintenance in the Romeo School System before retiring in 2005. After graduating from Romeo High School in 1960, Chuck joined the Romeo Fire Department and was a member of its department until 1995, serving as it Chief for last 15 years. His hobbies included hunting, driving around checking out the deer, eating and watching television, talking with his many family & friends and just being up north. Chuck is survived by his wife Peggy, children: Patty (Todd) Utsman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Susan Kerr of Almont, Chris (Pam) Richardson of Shelby Township. Grandchildren include Jeremy, Emily, Jordan, Noah, Michaela, & Reagan. Siblings include Jackie (Joe) Dibley of Marine City, Jim of Washington Township, Terry (Nancy) of St Helen, & Denny (Shelly) of Clermont, Florida. Memorial visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to ALS research or to the Mercy or Heartland Hospice would be appreciated.
