Charles Thomas Young

Charles Thomas Young , age 78, a resident of Memphis for many years, passed away on Saturday November 18, 2023. Charles was born in Mount Clemens, MI on March 17, 1945, son of George and Ruth (Smith) Young.

Whether he was behind the wheel of a dune buggy racing over test hill or in the workshop rebuilding engines, his hands were always at work, skillfully tinkering and fine-tuning.

His sibling found in him not just a brother, but a true companion in the journey of life. He was the best uncle and great-uncle a niece or nephew could ask for, a source of guidance, endless fun, and always shared the best stories.

Charles had a love of traveling. He was able to experience some of his fondest memories with his late partner, Carol Loren. From the busy streets of Las Vegas to the calming waves of cruises and the scenic beauty of train rides. Together, they explored the world hand in hand.

His laugh and smile had the power to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, and those who were fortunate enough to share in his joy will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts.

Charles is survived by an extended family, to which he loved very much. Brother to Margaret (Norman) Zabik of Armada. Uncle to Lynne (Terry) Gardner of Armada, Great Uncle to Brendan Gardner of Armada, Brooke Gardner of Armada, and Bethany (Derek) Ferracciolo of St. Clair Shores. Uncle to Anne (Keith) Gailey of Chippewa Lake, Great Uncle to Evan (Crystal) Masters of North Branch, and Tori (Kevin) Amy of Grosse Ile. Uncle to Edward (Julie) Zabik, Great Uncle to Benjamin and Jonathon Zabik of Fostoria. Charles is preceded in death by his parents George and Ruth, and his love Carol Loren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.

Funeral Service will be at 7pm.

Burial will be at a later date.
