Charles W. Kempf

Charles W. Kempf, age 93, a lifelong Romeo/Armada area resident, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Angelical’s Place of Romeo. Charles was born March 30, 1920 in Washington Township, Michigan, the son of John and Elizabeth (Murthum) Kempf. He married Florence Wolfe on June 23, 1956 at the Congregational Church in Romeo and she preceded his in death on January 6, 1971. He then married Mildred Henry (Stahlbuck) on June 9, 1973 and she also preceded him in death on December 22, 2006. Charles retired from Ford Motor Company at the Proving Ground where he worked in outside maintenance. Charles also worked on his farm and did professional landscaping for family & friends. Along with his family, they were long time members of Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township. Charles is survived by his daughter Kay (Robert) Hill of Columbus, MI., Ronald (Pearl) Stahlbuck of Gaylord, MI., William Stahlbuck and Sandra (Leo) Carson both of South Dakota along with grandchildren Robert, Kevin, Katelyn, Adeena, Andrea, Matthew, Laura, Wendy, and Robert. Also survived by 17 3/4 great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa, grandson Michael Stahlbuck and brothers: Louis, John, George, William, and Frank. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 18 at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township with Pastor Eric Majeski officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
