Charles W. Wernert

Charles W. Wernert, age 61, a 30 year resident of Washington, Michigan, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Beaumont Hospital of Troy. Charles was born January 7, 1963, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of William and Nancy (Pagel) Wernert. On March 5, 1988, Charles married Cassandra Clyne in Roseville, Michigan. He served in the Army for 3 years. Charles worked as an Iron Worker for the Local 25 and retired from Barton Malow. Charles’ favorite pastime was fishing, and he also enjoyed camping, hunting, and driving his tractor.

Charles is survived by his wife, Cassie of Washington, Michigan, daughters, Ali (T.J.) Tokarz of Monroe, and Veronica (Jesse) Craig of Sterling Heights, siblings, Bill (Rob) Wernert of Pontiac, Dave (Shawn) Wernert of Algonac, Keith Wernert of Marine City, and Jenn Wernert of Marine City, grandchildren Brookelynn, Briella, Eddy, Liam, Jayleigh, and Juliana. Charles is predeceased by his parents, brothers Harry Wernert and Kevin Wernert, and grandson Collin Tokarz.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A small service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan.
