Christy L. Parks

Christy L. Parks, age 64, raised in Romeo and had lived in California, New Mexico, New York and Florida for many years, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Christy was born in Pontiac, Michigan on August 23, 1949, the daughter of Robert A. and Barbara J. Parks (nee McDonald). After attending/graduating from Romeo High School in 1967, Christy used her artistic talents to become a well renowned potter, selling her pottery all over the country. She loved to cook, read, knit, design, and make clothing for her family & friends, loved to quilt, but most of all just helping people who were down on their luck at the many places she had lived over the years. Christy is survived by her children: Eric Wright of Sterling Heights, Quillon Dayton of Tucson, Arizona, Jessica Dayton of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Lila (Chris) Campbell in Northern Kentucky. Also survived by her parents, Robert Parks of Florida and Barbara Parks of Romeo and siblings: David (Kim) Parks of Bruce Township, Kathy (John) Averitt of Hazel Park, Wendy Parks and Missy Robinson both of Romeo. Christy was predeceased by three husbands, Jay Dayton, Manny Kramer, and Richard Klein. She was engaged to be married to Capt. Larry Whidden of Shady Hills, Florida. A celebration of Christys life will take place on Saturday, August 9 at 3 PM at her brother David s house at 5543 34 Mile Road, Bruce Township. Local arrangements by the Henry M.
