Clarence N. VanDenBrouck, age 85, a lifelong Romeo/Macomb County resident, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Clarence was born November 17, 1924 in Centerline, MI., the son of Hector and Emma (Meerschaert) VanDenBrouck. He married the former Catherine R. Bast on November 29, 1947 at St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. Clarence retired from ITT Manufacturing in Rochester, MI., in 1984. Along with his family, they were lifelong truck gardeners in Romeo. He also proudly served his Country in the Navy during WW II. His hobbies upon retirement was fishing. Clarence is survived by his wife Catherine of Washington Twp., grandsons: Ben (Kelly) Hennig and Erik Hennig. Also survived by his great grandson Jack along with siblings: Donna (Frank) Kliment of Texas, Bob (Jane) VanDenBrouck of Lapeer, Marilyn (Joe) Leppek of Sterling Heights, Dick VanDenBrouck of Texas, and Raymond (Lisa) VanDenBrouck of Shelby Twp. He was preceded in death by his daughters Kathleen Hennig & Susan McNamee. His siblings that preceded him in death include Harvey, Norman, & Henry VanDenBrouck, Lillian Hellebuyck and Arlene VanDenBroucke. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo, Visitation will take place the hour prior to the funeral. Fr. John (Doc) Ortman will be officiating.
