Clifton L. Lollar, age 92, a 9 year resident of Armada Twp., and formerly a lifelong Ray Twp. resident, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital Center in Clinton Twp. Clifton was born October 11, 1916 in St Clair, Missouri, the son of Roy J. and Virginia (Lewis) Lollar. Clifton and his wife Alta (Schumer) were married over 70 years ago on May 23, 1938 in St Clair, Missouri. Clifton worked for Lombardo Construction as a carpenter for many years before retiring in the late 1970’s. His love of his life was farming his Ray Twp farm and after moving from his farm, his garden in Armada Twp. He previously worked in skilled trades during WW II at the Packard Plant in Detroit and while he was growing up in Missouri, he worked at the local shoe factory. Clifton is survived by his wife Alta, daughters: Beverly (Ron) Force of Ray Twp., Yvonne Hopp of Deland, Florida, & Marilyn (Norman) Davis of Orion, MI. Grandchildren include Dean, Renee, Denise, Doreen, Kelly, Carrie, Phillip and also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Clifton was preceded in death by his son-in-law Leroy Hopp, great granddaughter Kylie and his siblings: Opal Harbison, Hazel Crocker, Lola Francis, Earl & Charles Lollar. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Bob Bryant of the StoneRidge Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery in Ray Twp. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 6-9 and on Wednesday from 2-9 at the Funeral Home. Visitation: Tuesday from 6-9 PM Wednesday 2-9 PM Services: Thursday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home the family will great family and friends from 10 AM till 11 AM on thursday, the hour of service Interment: Davis Cemetery located on Romeo Plank Road just north of 27 Mile Road on the WEst Side
