Cynthia L. Aalbertsberg

Cynthia L. (Cindy) Aalbertsberg, age 58,a 28 year resident of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Cindy was born January 21, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Richard and Carol (Banks) Kerner. She married Steven Aalbertsberg in 1988 at their home in Washington Township. Cindy worked for her father taking care of his homes in Detroit for many years till her health forced her to retire. Previously she worked for many fine restaurants in Oakland County as a waitress. When she wasn’t working she loved to take care of her garden and spend time with her many family & friends. Cindy is survived by her husband Steven, children: Brian Schroeder of Washington Township and Danette Aalbertsberg of Ohio and one grandson Austin. Also survived by her parents: Richard (Yvette) Kerner of Florida and her mother Carol Bell of Las Vegas. Siblings surviving include Richard Kerner of Memphis, Dave (Colleen) Kerner of Harrison Township, Cathy (Johnny) Hobbs of Ocoee, Florida and Lori (Dan) Lakosky. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Lonnie Frost officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Powell Cemetery in Washington Township. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
