David L. Goodwin

DAVID LEO GOODWIN, age 65, a longtime resident of Shelby Township, Michigan, passed away at home on February 28, 2024. David was born on March 18, 1958, in Detroit, MI to Charlotte and Edward J. Goodwin. After high school, David joined the Navy, serving 16 years, where he was nicknamed “Ugly.” After the Navy, David spent many years bartending. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and fishing. David was a good handyman and loved to work on projects in his spare time. David is survived by his siblings, Glenn (Judy) DeVlaminck of Escanaba, Michael Goodwin of Shelby Township, James (Cindy) Goodwin of Brighton, Brian DeVlaminck of Houghton Lake, Robert (Lauren) Goodwin of Clinton Township, Patricia (Mark) Nichols of Romeo and Justina (Mike) Ablahad of Washington Township. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. David is preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Goodwin, mother, Charlotte (Reband) DeVlaminck, stepfather, Elmer DeVlaminck, sister, Lois DeVlaminck, and sister-in-law, Lauren Goodwin.
