David O. Ellinghausen, age 60, a 23 year resident of Almont, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. David was born May 10, 1948 in Detroit, the son of Donald O. and Eleanore (Miller) Ellinghausen. He married the former Nicolette Rebain on July 20, 1985 at St Mark's Lutheran Church in Roseville. David worked as an engineer in the automotive industry, most recently at Key Safety Systems in Sterling Heights. He previously worked as an engineer for both Ford & Chrysler and at Kelsey Hayes. His hobbies include reading, crosswords puzzles, doing all type of outside maintentance, especially those involving ladders. He also served his Country in Germany while being in the Army. David is survived by his wife Nicolette of Almont, children: David H. of Indianapolis, Brian G. of Mt Carmel, IL., Elisabeth Anne (Matthew) Lauer of Romeo, Aubrey (Matthew) Heusser of Allegan, MI., & Steven (Veronica) Pakenas of Royal Oak. His mother Eleanore Ellinghausen of Ann Arbor survives along with siblings, Sharon (Robert) Thornton, Donna (Jimmy) Scheys of Ann Arbor, John of Flint, & Linda (John) Svacha of Canton, MI. Grandchildren include Gage, Brice, & Landis Ellinghausen, Owen, Eliana, & Amelia Lauer, and Kathleen & Rachel Heusser. Nieces & nephew include Joshua, Lieveka, Suzanne, & Rene Scheys, Daniel Webster, Robyn Cantrell, Kelly & Aaron Svacha, Kevin, Douglas, & Michael Ellinghausen. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Burial will follow at 2 PM at Guardian Angels Cemetery in Oakland Twp. Donations to Salvation Army Bed & Breakfast would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan.
