Dean Austin Weaver

Dean A. Weaver, age 85 passed away on May 16, 2019 at Vista Springs Washington Place. Dean was born on November 24, 1933 to Arthur and Mildred (Abbey) Weaver in Lapeer. He married the late Vonda (Thorman) on April 26, 1958 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Romeo. Vonda preceded him in death on January 24, 2014. Dean worked at General Motors for 30 years and retired as a Product Designer in 1988. After retiring, Dean worked for REI Trucking as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was also the Romeo Booster Club President and enjoyed coaching Romeo Baseball for numerous years. Dean was very proud of being a season ticket holder for U of M football for 37 years. He also loved spending time with his grandkids. Dean is survived by his children Denise (Terry) Edwards of West Branch, Cheryl (Don) Crites of Washington Twp., and Mike (Karen) of Washington Twp.; grandchildren Devoney (Jeremy) Crockett, Matthew (Adrian) Edwards, Alison Crites, Nathan Crites, Holly Weaver, and Taylor Weaver; and grandchildren Gwendolyn Crockett, Vivian Crockett, and Renee Edwards. Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
