Deanna Marie Bondy, age 82, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Angela Hospice, Livonia, surrounded by her 8 “only” children. Deanna was born in Detroit, to Amelia and Vincent Alan, and spent most of her life in Harrison Township. She married the love of her life, Jerry, in 1959 and began the career she was born for – Motherhood! Deanna was not only mom to her own brood, but most neighborhood children considered her their second mother. Many school group gatherings were held in that big Townhall family room. Later in life, when her RA kept her close to home, her kitchen table was the place to share a tomato and a story during a “Coffee and Talk” session. Deanna was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge; always referring to her encyclopedias when questions were asked around the dinner table during the early years. She was patriotic and loved her country fiercely, participating in every election! Deanna was an eloquent letter writer. To receive a card from Mom was a treat and something to treasure – her handwriting was Catholic-school perfect, and the contents were always encouraging and loving – Most ended in the line: --- I just love you –
Deanna is survived by her beautiful legacy – children – Rosalind (Carl) Mischley, Kathy (David) Boyd, Steven (Denise) Bondy, Colleen (Tom) Brinker, Julia (the late Dave) Bammel, Lynn (Joe) Kuligowski, (the late) David Bondy, and Christin (Steve) Defour. Grandchildren: Natalie (Jon) Globke, Gerilyn (Chris) Scally, Erika (Troy) Dieter, Megan (Zack) Livingston, Logan and Kellen Boyd, Lauren (Connor) Campbell, Darren Bondy, TJ (Kati) and Andy (Lindsay) Brinker, Dave (Jenny) Bammel, Jaime and Allison Kuligowski and Samantha and Alex Defour. Great Grandchildren: Gabriel, Daniel, Ezekiel and Baby Globke, Austin, Blake and Lucas Scally, Gavin Dieter, Ellery, Eva and Eden Brinker, Andrew and Victoria Brinker, and Vito, David and Leo Bammel. Also, her sister, Claudia Strange. Deanna is predeceased by her husband, Jerry, son David and son-in-law, Dave.
